A TEMPORARY FIX FOR A TEMPORARY KITCHEN
One of the most expensive rooms in the house to renovate is the kitchen. Especially if you're talking a full gut, and unfortunately that's exactly what the kitchen in my house really needs.
Wood paneling, dark brown peeling paint, mismatched cabinetry and brown laminate flooring. YIKES. This kitchen was in rough shape, but I really couldn't afford to do a complete renovation yet. With a new floor and a little paint, this nasty kitchen made a complete transformation.
Marmoleum is a greener alternative to linoleum or laminate flooring. It's made from renewable, non-toxic, bio-based materials. Small changes to a more sustainable lifestyle.
After scraping off all of the peeling paint from the paneling and cleaning off the soot left from an old kitchen fire, the walls and ceiling got a fresh coat of crisp, clean white. What a difference paint can make. The laminate flooring was ripped up, and we put down a new floor in a fun chevron pattern using marmoleum tiles.
And that's it folks! An added baseboard and appliances, and the temporary kitchen is done.
